Couple of weeks ago, I posted a picture on my Lakme 9 to 5 Crease-less lipstick collection and many of you were asking and messaging me on the shade names. My personal Instagram account: HERE (Do follow ).
I hadn’t gone around doing the lip swatches so I couldn’t reveal the shades yet. So here I am writing a post on it. Basically I had decided to do a professional series of style and makeup since I am working in IT industry and I know it is tough out there to shuffle between work and personal care and style. I hope you have read my post on ballet shoes for working women. If not here is the link : CLICK .
Coming to this post, Lakme India had released their products in 9 to 5 series couple of years ago specifically targeting at working women. Since it is era of matte lips, I found these lipsticks while swatching at a counter and my love for them started. They were matte , long lasting and the shades were to die for. In India if we search for lipsticks we will mostly find reds, maroons and pinks. It is really difficult to find nudes, browns and corals, but my search was over with Lakme Crease-less 9 to 5 lipsticks.
I have picked 5 shades that can be worn to office without looking out of place. Before I start with the swatches here’s a review on them.
Price: Rs.450/- but you get amazing discounts on www.nykaa.com.
Availability : Only in India.
Packaging: The packaging is to die for. So sleek and sexy. And Hello it is rose gold: everybody’s obsession!!! It comes in a rose gold tube with a tight cap and hence travel friendly. The packaging alone gives it a classy look that you have to buy it.
Detailed Review: The shades are amazing as I have already said. The formula is really good. It is creamy, matte and not so drying. The application is smooth. Some of my shades have a weird smell but that fades away within minutes. I mean I don’t mind the smell much but it is weird smell. The claim for long lasting is true: it does last up to 6-8 hrs on my lips. But I do couple of touch ups during the day to just enhance the colour. It doesn’t survive our Indian meals. But it doesn’t completely wipes off, but just fades off lightly. Sometimes i do notice it settles on my lip lines. So always exfoliate before applying it or else it might settle on the inner lines of your lips. It doesn’t feel heavy on the lips and it is really creamy.
Only problem I have with this lipsticks is most of the shade names don’t comply with the actual colour of the lipsticks. Like for example Red Chaos, it is not at all red or for that matter not even chaotic. Other than that I have no complains.they are always in my purse and I love wearing these lipsticks to office. Subtle and beautiful.
I am starting with lightest to darkest shades in my collection.
Coffee Command: It is a beautiful brownish nude colour. This will look great of fair skinned people. I mean absolutely gorgeous. It doesn’t complement my skin so much as it same colour as my lips. But fair skinned ladies if you want a shade that is MLBB than this is your go to
Red Chaos: My absolute favourite. It suits my skin tone which is medium Indian skin tone. It is my go to shade if I can’t decide on a lip colour. It is a beautiful pinkish nude with brownish tint. This shade will suit almost everyone and you can apply layers to make it even darker.
Rosy Sunday: Again a shade apt for every Indian skin tone. It is a coral pinkish colour. Perfect for a day wear. Ladies who love pink but need a subtle shade will absolutely love it.
Pink Aggressive: This shade is my least favourite as it has shimmer in it. And I am not a shimmer kinda person. It is an out and out pink shade with shimmer in it. If you love shimmer in your lipsticks then this is your shade.
Wine Play: It is a wine colour with a hint of maroon. If you want to go for a bit of a bold look yet look classy, then this is your shade. Again will definitely suit fair, medium and dark skin.
