So now with the rainy season, our hair tend to start getting sticky and oily. With humidity our hair becomes frizzy. Who doesn’t long for silky and well maintained hair? I have been trying this new trend of reverse shampooing since summer and I was quite happy with the results.
My hair are very oily and stay limp on the 2nd hair day. Though I was able to get rid of the oil with my Batiste Dry Shampoo, I still wanted to try some other methods which worked well.
I saw this video by Huda beauty on reverse shampooing and decided to try it and it was amazing.
We have many brands now coming up with products for reverse shampooing but your normal conditioner and shampoo will do the same trick.
What is Reverse Shampooing?
It is steps to wash your hair in reverse order. That is you condition your hair first and then shampoo your hair to wash the conditioner away.
Why Reverse Shampooing
Some people especially me face greasiness after using conditioner. As a result my hair become limp and heavy. They just lie there with no life on my 2nd hair day. So when we apply the conditioner we are giving the moisture to the hair. And in 2nd step when we use the shampoo, we are washing away the conditioner along with the greasiness. This makes your hair less frizzy with no greasiness. And because of this the hair automatically gain volume and is manageable.
How I wash my Hair:
Conditioner: Boots Intensive Treatment Mask in Avocado and Macadamia
Price: Rs.525/- 400 ml.
Shampoo: Patanjali Kesh Kanti
Price: Rs.75/- for 200 ml.
I use the Boots Avocado and Macadamia hair Mask and Patanjali Kesh Kanti Shampoo. I just love this combination. The Boots Mask is supposed to be used after shampooing but knowing my hair, the next day itself my hair become very oily if I use it after shampooing. This product is for really dry hair and retains lots of moisture which is a good thing, but not for my hair especially for my hair. So I tried to combine this mask with my all-time favourite shampoo for reverse shampooing. And IT did wonders to my hair. And it did definitely tone down the frizziness and oiliness on my hair.
When you shouldn’t do Reverse Shampooing:
When your hair are extremely dirty it is best to shampoo them and wash off the dirt first and then condition your hair.
