Since I am such a lippie addict, I couldn’t stop myself from sharing a review on lip product. Today I want to introduce you all to a U.S. cosmetic brand : Colourpop cosmetics. They had created a roar in the market couple of years back with their affordable range of liquid lipsticks. Cut to today, they have a wide variety of makeup products: from eyeliners to highlighters. All products are very affordable and of good quality.Today I am reviewing their liquid lipsticks in the shade Bumble and Mars.
The Colourpop liquid lipstick rage is for real. Our own Indian beauty market is flooded with these lipsticks i.e. through the Instagram stores. And the reason for this is : a. They are affordable . b. They are of good quality and c. The no. of shades they offer is insane. Seriously you pick a colour from the spectrum they will have it.

Packaging : I just love their packaging. It comes in a tube like most of the liquid lipsticks in the market. It has a silver cap, which makes it different. Also what makes it so striking is the hologram logo on the tube. The shades are mentioned on the bottom of the tube. The tube itself is transparent so it easy to see the colour. It comes with whole lot of quantity which will last you long enough.
As the name says : these are the ultra matte lipsticks aka liquid lipstick. The matte lipstick trend is here to stay for a long time and colourpop is definitely one of the brands that is ruling the market of liquid lipsticks. I picked up 2 shades from their line : Mars and Bumble.
It comes with a super long doe applicator which also a bit stiff. But it pretty much the job. 1 sweep of application and you are good to go. Also the doe applicator means you can get to the corner of your lips also easily.
The texture of the lipstick is liquid and creamy and it dries to complete matte within few seconds. The old story of the liquid lipsticks. These lipsticks are highly pigmented. I never to reapply twice to get the colour. And they dry out to be super matte which also means that they super drying. Well that is the point of a liquid lipstick you need it to be matte that means no moisture. And that is the reason why they are so long lasting. These lipsticks last on me for a good old 6-7 hrs. They do transfer a bit with our oily Indian food. But there is nothing to be done. I do notice flaking after prolonged time. So it always a good idea to scrub and prime your lips before you apply these.
Coming to the shades:
Bumble: By far one of the most popular shades in the colourpop range as it compliments any skin tone. It is dusty pink colour which works out well as an everyday colour. It is super pigmented and glides on perfectly giving full coverage. This shades lasts a longer on me than the Mars because it is a darker shade and highly pigmented.
Mars: It is fun bright fuschia colour. Again it will suit most of the skin tones. It does have a bit of cooler undertone and may make you look a bit pale. But it will suit Indian tones alright. It is not as pigmented as Bumble but with an extra layer works out as perfect shade for events and parties.Also I notice a more flaking on this shade but nothing a good layer of lip balm wont fix.
Overall, these 2 shades are perfect shades for Indian skintone and affordable. With wedding/festival season on these shades will be a prefect match. That being said, these liquid lipsticks are definitely one of the driest lipsticks I have tried. But that is the whole point of being matte. Definitely give these a go, if you too want to jump in the liquid lipstick trend for affordable prices.
